The Annual Wade Lecture featured Professor Sir Peng Tee Khaw: The eyes are the windows to our future: Research shaping the future of health’. He studied medicine at Southampton University School of Medicine and qualified in 1980 specialising in adult and paediatric glaucoma. Professor Khaw is now the Director of the National Institute of Heath’s Biomedical Research Centre at Moorfields, and University College London’s Institute of Ophthalmology. He has raised more than £120 million for research and buildings including funding for the world’s largest Children’s Eye Hospital and translational research clinical centre.
