Earlier this month, Associate Professor Dr Jörn Lakowski and two of his University of Southampton research fellows attended the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR 2026) conference in Montreal. Alessandra Aleotti and Megan Broderick presented posters showcasing their work using retinal organoids to study human retinal diseases and development.
Retinal organoids are helping researchers better understand how eye diseases develop and could play a vital role in future treatments for sight loss.
